Sedgman President of the IC
Council |
| Welcome to the Internet site of the Council of
International Lawn Tennis Clubs.
Many of you when visiting an international
tournament may have seen present and past players wearing the pink
and steel grey colours of the International Club in their ties and
scarves. Sometimes when you have been at a club you will have seen a
pink and grey flag flying over a match being played in a friendly
spirit.
This website
will tell you more about the ideals and activities of the family of
International Clubs (ICs) whose colours these are. It will give the
ICs themselves a modern means of communicating news and information
about each other's Clubs and about the Council which is the guardian
of them all. We also hope it will, through its links, open the door
for you to the most important tennis websites on the Internet
today.
International Clubs, and there are now
thirty-four of them, allow present and past international players,
many of whom are Davis and Federation Cup players, to promote and
renew friendship not only across the net but across the world. ICs
encourage the highest standards of fair play and sportsmanship and
are especially concerned to foster these ideals in junior players;
and they generally promote the fine game of
tennis. | |
